About the Program:

Our mission: to help disadvantaged adults and children who are in need of orthodontic care while educating general and pediatric dentists in clinical orthodontics.

WHAT WE DO
Did you know that kids with crooked and buck teeth are the number one target for bullies? For the many families in the Skiatook and surrounding communities that cannot afford orthodontic treatment, this heart breaking reality adds incredible stress. Likewise, many adults have grown up living with crooked teeth and all the self esteem cosmetic, dental and periodontal problems associated with orthodontic neglect. For many, they have never been able to afford these services because of financial issues.

The Premier GP Orthodontic Program is a charitable educational program that treats disadvantaged people in need of orthodontic treatment while training general & pediatric dental professionals in clinical orthodontics for pro-rated or pro bono cost. Many of these participating dentists are from out-of-state and are temporarily licensed by the Oklahoma State Dental Board to deliver these services and are supervised in clinic by Dr. Brad Williams, his staff and other state licensed dentists proficient in orthodontics.

We prioritize our services for low-income families and/or individuals in special financial difficulties. Many of these people are at risk for unfavorable health, academic, and social outcomes because of these challenges, and they are particularly vulnerable when they do not have the positive self-esteem and confidence that come with good oral health. It is our mission to inspire hope in these people and improve their lives in a dramatic way, while training dentists to deliver orthodontic services in their respective communities.

Orthodontic appointments will be scheduled every 4 weeks. Listed to the right are the mandatory Saturday course dates. The alternating month appointment dates will be during Williams Dental & Orthodontic regular office hours, Monday-Thursday, 8am-4pm.

PARTICIPANT ESSAY

Short narrative on why you need this program.

The approval process can take 4 to 6 months from the time you have turned in all of your paperwork. The application process is competitive and not all qualified applicants will be guaranteed an offer to participate in the program.

Applications only apply if you are in the Skiatook area and can find regular transportation to and from appointments.

APPROVAL PROCESS:

The screening process will select applicants on an ongoing basis. Selection is based on the information provided within this application, orthodontic and financial need. Please ensure that all needed information is submitted at one time. Incomplete applications will not be submitted for review and will not be kept on file. The application process is competitive and not all qualified applicants will be guaranteed placement in the program.

Once an applicant has submitted all the required documentation (application, proof of income, dental consultation form, picture of applicant’s teeth, patient essay) the application will then be reviewed . If all documents are not submitted at the same time, the application will not be reviewed and will have to be resubmitted for consideration.

Selected Pre-Qualified applicants will be contacted for a consultation appointment as part of the selection process.

Selected Approved applicants will be notified by phone after the consultation appointment if selected for the program.

The process is competitive and can take 6–12 months because the program is limited by the number of dentists participating each year.
